Project Linus

November seems to be our Month where we do at least one Community Service Project....makes us Thankful for what we have.
This year we participated in Project Linus.
This meeting took place on a weekend so parents and families can participate.
What we basically did was hunt down the extremely cheapest and best deal on fleece that we could find...and November was a great month for fleece deals.
We had each family that wanted to participate, pay $5 per blanket that they wanted to make. If a family wanted to do one blanket and all help it was $5 or more than one $5 each.
The Leaders showed the families how to make the tie blankets and they got to work.

Troop Leader Carolen took them to a Project Linus drop off with a couple of the girls.
They are headed to hospitals to be given to little children.
We gave all the girls who did this project a patch at our next Awards Ceremony.

I was kind of bummed that I didn't get to go, but I promised my son that I would be at his Boy Scout event which was important to him.
I am thankful that I have a group of ladies that I trust completely to take care of my girls; which is difficult to find these days.
Plus, they took a ton of pictures....and I'm excited about that. {I scrapbook these memories!}
Here are the pictures that they took.....
